Default "I'll play again when [blank]."

Anyone else hearing a lot of this lately?

I've been hearing mostly two variations:
  • From PvP'ers, "I'll play again when there are skill updates"
  • From PvE'ers, "I'll play again when there are 7 heroes"

I'm just curious if anyone else has been hearing this. It may just be the circles I'm in, but it seems like everyone I know has quit and doesn't plan on playing again until some of those "promised" changes actually go through.

To be honest, this was brought to my attention because my PvP guild folded when we got so bored with the meta being stagnant that none of us cared anymore.

We didn't cyber enough?

People left for different reasons, obviously. I was gone for like 2 months, but the guild actually "folded" because the guys who cared about PvP got bored with the meta and quit, which is why I shut it down.

Also, I <3 you.

Unlike most grindfest MMO's, the thing that made GW unique was that it wasn't driven by level and such. It's still the case, although its much more obscure with all the crap they've tacked on such as titles and title-linked skills.

I'm in college too and have multiple clubs/organizations/over the average units/etc...

I'm not the best student I'll admit, but it's waaay easier to manage time than in hs. I don't play GW anymore, but I easily could seeing as how much time I waste on a daily basis.

Which leads me back on topic:
I'll play GW again when they get the Dervish update out the door that they talked about half a year ago.

I won't play GW2 at all.

o_O You serious? After all they showed already? I can't wait lol..

But anyway, trying not to fail college too, but my finals are coming up, so I'm TRYING to play less, but barely succeeding. I'll get there though. I hope :P

I just want them to update the ele lol, it's shit, and we all know it, but let's pretend it's not THAT bad..

What's curious is that you are a PvP'er that's bored of the meta and joined a PvE SC guild. Or that's what I thought RoJ was at least :P Either that or you should update your guild tag

I used to run RoS which was RoJ's PvP guild in their ally. When RoJ's self-run alliance died (along with RoS dying), I just rejoined RoJ.

I have a lot of friends in the guild, so they let me mostly afk in it.

EDIT: Oh, and I'm a decent SC'er. I've done a lot of speed runs and dungeon clears in my time, but they're pretty boring so I only do them if a team is desperate for a position.

As an observer of many GvG matches, I'll say that the meta is pretty okay now. I think the main problem is the lack of added incentive.

I'd personally like to hear KJ's opinion on Anet thinking about doing a ladder reset.

Also, PvE is PvE. No changing that.

well, i'm not really playing anymore, just chatting, and afk 90% of the time i'm on gw
just cuz most people i knew left GW, and the few who are left, are too busy most of the time
and since i need help with lots of stuff in GW, i better wait for full hero
most normal pugs (normal as NM and "easier" missions) are worse than i am, like 1 time i can remember, when i joined a pug at gyala hatchery, i saw they were even worse at playing the game than i were

so as for the question "did anyone else hear such things?" , yes, some friends who can chat did, from me
but i will not annoy them anymore (i think i did it by talking about it too much)

dunno how long i'll play gw until full hero (except for events)

offtopic: gonna show this thread to someone, so he can reply, lol

At this point? Too little, too late. Resetting the ladder is a nice idea, but it should have been done on a yearly basis. But that's just my opinion.

And the meta may be stable, but it's boring and (as you said) lacks incentive.

That was me... more than 2 years ago, possibly more than 3 years ago.
I bounced around pve for quite awhile, getting schmexy armors and weaps, so that when the balance finally came, I could go back in style. Then I moved on to messing around with grind titles, just to keep busy while waiting. Eventually, I gave up hope completely and started playing other games.
At this point, I don't see myself returning even if they tried to balance it; I'm afraid that it would just be too little, too late. Also, I don't think most of the people from my era would return. Once bitten, twice shy.

BTW, what up KJ.

Yep. Hit the nail on the head. Skill updates and 7 hero update.

I can't believe ANet's nerve about the Derv update. They won't even admit they aren't doing the update anymore. They just shrug all comments away and try and distract everybody with costumes and GW:Beyond content.

Their indecency to refuse to admitting they RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed up thier time management is just awful.

I'd also like to see speed clears rot in hell. Maybe then we all could focus on not exploiting the game to amass as much money and items and actually play through regularly.

I played GW for 4 years straight never had a game that grabbed my attention so well.... I bought Cyrsis a month ago and have been PVPing the Crysis War thing a ma bob every since. They got tanks -n- Sh&t and it is a good pvp experience. One heck of a learning curve but in an hour you should have it down pack. Ping is king though ...

I will come back... for now I need to burn my self out on cyrsis. They need to release some stuff on GW2. Maybe a actual release date. Maybe large PVP maps like under the Montessori.

PS DC universe just came out but 15 bucks a month ouch.. is it worth it ?

Also seeing this on the GW webste does not help the slow death of the game. Maybe some up to date stuff ?
